| Marian Drake grew up in a musical family in Southern Illinois. She earned Bachelor and Master
of Music degrees from the Eastman School of Music Rochester, NY in Cello Performance. Her teachers include Steven Doane,
Lawrence Lesser, and Robert Sylvester.
For the past 17 years Marian has frequently performed with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra cello section as a substitute.
She also plays in the St. Louis Chamber Orchestra and the American Kantorei. She plays a Gofriller copy cello made by Robert
Clemens 1995.
Marian taught at Interlochen Arts Camp for nine years, has been teaching the cello in the St. Louis area for 17 years and
also enjoys arranging music.
